Visitors to Old Tascosa Brewery will go on a real trip Thursday thanks to the return of psychedelic puppet act Happy Accident.
The traveling puppet troupe, who describe their act as “a Cronenbergian joyride through the freakiness of modern life,” will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at the brewery, 3100 S.W. Sixth Ave. There’s no cover, but donations will be taken at the door.
Co-owner Amy Von Lintel said the act got good reviews after their first stop at the brewery in late March and that she’s excited to have them back.
“They wear costumes and then do some puppetry, and it’s very dynamic,” Von Lintel said. “There’s no talking. It’s very performative, but it’s not so highbrow. Matt (Welch, her husband and brewery co-owner) loved it, and he’s not really into surrealist art, but he thought it was quirky and funny.”
The show is recommended for ages 13 and older, and psychedelic clothing is suggested but not required.
“Texas drone master” Lavatone will open.
