As the holiday season arrives, there’s a slight lull in activities—at least for a few days. But Thanksgiving weekend does offer a few special treats.
One of the longest-running Turkey Day traditions (dating back more than 60 years!) is the Thanksgiving Day Buffet at The Big Texan, 7701 E. Interstate 40.
This year’s in-house buffet includes traditional and Cajun turkey, prime rib, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, fresh salad and fruit bar, green beans, yams, cranberry relish, dinner rolls, and a choice of pumpkin or pecan pie.
The buffet will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 27. Pick-up options also are available. Call 806-372-6000.
Looking for something on the higher end? Chef Marcus Snead promises holiday favorites at the holiday buffet at Toscana Italian Steakhouse inside The Barfield, 600 S. Polk St.

Black Friday has plenty to offer beyond shopping deals.
Bar 3, 9101 S. Coulter St., will host a brunch bash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 28, offering traditional favorites, mimosas, craft cocktails and football on all screens. Call 806-353-7003.
Pondaseta Brewing Co., 7500 S.W. 45th Ave., will unveil three new imperial stouts at its annual Castle Black Friday event, set for 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Nov. 28. In addition to the new offerings, they’ll have limited availability of past favorites Sugar Ray Charles at 2 p.m. and Run Out Groove at 5 p.m.
